Exterior metal & fasteners
Rust through the cabinet or seized fasteners is common enough here that we inspect for it separately from any internal fault, since a corroded-through cabinet is a replacement conversation regardless of what's inside.
Gas & heat pump units
Corrosion works from the outside in on coastal units, attacking the exchanger housing before internal scale ever becomes an issue — a different failure path than what we'd expect further inland.
Won't hold temperature
Moisture intrusion into sensor housings from salt air produces the same symptoms as a straightforward sensor failure — we test for both.
Sticking from salt buildup
